The Mediterranean region has been trending in the travel diaries on social media for a few years. This is due to the mesmerizing blend of natural and man-made beauty of the countries in this region which makes it a hub for worldwide tourists. The Mediterranean is therefore one of the top world holiday sites.

A lot of people get confused about what countries lie within the Mediterranean sea line. Broadly speaking, this line cover parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia. It includes the countries of Turkey, Syria, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Israel, Montenegro, Monaco, Malta, Algeria, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. These countries are all full of seaside beauty, historical places and architecture, and perfect sunshine-y weather for the tourists.

Amazing Places to Visit

Here are the top 10 places to visit in the Mediterranean region which will provide you with a lifetime experience and beautiful memories:

  1. The Amalfi Coast, Italy

A forty-kilometer-long Italian coastline, the Amalfi Coast is a paradise for holidayers. It is a small town near Positano, with vibrant colored houses, restaurants full of lovely foreigners, and the company of locals who are always welcoming and warm towards the tourists. This place is safe, clean, and refreshing for nature lovers as the sea waves and the fresh air will fill your lungs with peace.

The Amalfi coast is surrounded by the maze-like centuries-old towns of Positano and Ravello. Ravello is famous for its cathedrals and architecture from the Middle Ages. Thus, for beautiful sunsets and picturesque scenes, the Amalfi coast is a must-visit place in the Meditteranean.

Tip: It is best to visit Amalfi coast in the summertime as winters are usually rainy there.

  1. Corsica, France

Corsica lies between Italian and French coastlines. A large portion of this area is covered with mountains and forests which makes it a wonderful option for adventure tourists. Being a mountainous terrain, the place is known as the Isle of Beauty for its mesmerizing landscapes and seascapes. There are plenty of pine forests and mountains capes with deep ravines. These places are best for daring mountain climbers and hikers.

One of the prominent spots in the area is the Plage de Palombaggia beach which is ideal for sunbathing and diving.

Tip: Don’t go for a long walk unless you are healthy and fit for the deep ravines and rocky paths might exhaust you mid-way.

Tourists-Places

  1. Santorini, Greece

The most trending place on social media this summer was Santorini in Greece. The architecture of the area is itself a soothing sight with a blend of bright blue and pure white. The roughly carved and built huts and small houses look like a fairy-tale-like building. Also, a bright contrast of pink and purple bougainvillea flowers and plants in the backdrop of light-colored buildings is just amazing!

From the white-washed houses to the tall cliff and beautiful beaches, the tourists are mesmerized by everything. A few of the top scenes that you can get from the Firostefani and at the Perissa, the Black Beach.

Tip: This place is best for two reasons: as a couple’s gateway, and a world-famous place for gourmet cuisines!

  1. Cyprus

The south coast of Cyprus is always full of tourists throughout the year. This region is divided into two parts; the southern Greek Cypriot and the northern Turkish Cypriot. Despite being a disputed territory, this area is a sight to visit.

Cypress is full of ancient ruins and historical remnants of Greek, Roman, and Turkish architecture along with huge castles. The coastal town of Paphos is a mosaic wonder dating back to the Roman era. The Nissi Beach in the daytime and the nightlife in the Paphos are what the tourists look forward to.

Tip: You will regret if you missed out on any of the Cyprus meze variety while being there!

  1. Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik is surrounded by fortified walls from the olden times. This city is known as the Pearl of the Mediterranean for being a harbor and hub for fishing trade and activities.

It is one of the best places for a casual and calm visit to the ancient ruins and the marvelous architecture of the Renaissance era. The terracotta-tiled plazas, palaces, towers, cathedrals, and fountains speak of the grandiose taste of the Renaissance artisans.

Dubrovnik is always full of tourists from all over the world. It has sand and pebbles beaches which are colorful and lively in all seasons, busting with locals and the tourists.

Tip: Being a harbor, Dubrovnik is traffic-free so you can experience the historical places and their charm by strolling down the small lanes.
